The AOC Languedoc - Appellation Sommières
The Sommières appelation is the easternmost of the AOC Languedoc vineyards. The production area is made up of 18 municipalities in the Gard and produces about 7500 hl of wine.
The soils are gravel on hard chalk, soft limestone, limestone scree and colluvial deposits. The climate is Mediterranean with a continental climate influence of the Rhone type.
About six hectares of Domaine Trépaloup are classified as AOC Languedoc and have been classed under the Sommières appellation since 2010.
